Picked it up and it's for me.
I suddenly remember.
I asked for this to be sent to me - SCKLM 2014 race kit.
Opened it and it's all there - timing chip, bib number with my name, race singlet, and some vouchers.
With the race kit post to doorstep, it save time and energy to collect it before race.
Travel to race venue, then to collect race pack is tiring.
So this year I have set this right. Go by flight, check in, rest.
This year also beautiful arranged two tune-up races before the race.
Everything is alright, except myself.
The question is: am I ready?
Feel like the singlet is laughing at me |
This year I had my first DNS (Did not start) beside my name - Delta Eco Run.
It's nothing big for me, it's just for the record.
But the injury that deter me from running it is something.
Two weeks after DNS I able to make it for SP Half Marathon 12km.
Not up to pre-injury fitness, but at least something to kick up the spirit.
25km on the day after felt ok.
Haze visited again one week-3.
And I was down with heavy flu the same time.
As this week was the only week I can build up mileage before enter "tapering" week, I was hoping to hit some decent medium and long run.
But Tues and Wed was both hazy and I was down with flu.
I spent the few days sneezing and sleeping.
Fri 21km med-long run was fine.
Once the body get used to the distance, it gets easier.
Sunday finally complete a very satisfied and the only 35 km long run before the race.
No problem with the leg, body was alright.
Whether the injury will come back, I'll know in a few days.
However, the question is, am I ready?
I am not sure.
I thought running or not is not a difficult decision, but it seems that procrastination is attributed to the person not the environment.
It might not be a hard decision. The problem is how hard one holding to it and how much a person can give and take.
Leave it to tomorrow or next week.
Now let me immerse in the feeling of running the long run on last Sunday.
It was good.

Thu (Sep 18 14) | No run due to flu and haze.
Fri (Sep 19 14) | 21 kilometers | 1:44:16 min | 4:58 min/kilometer
medium-long run, Notes: Rested two days due to flu and haze. Flu slightly better and haze was improved API still above 50, but better than 70-100 for previous days. Started hot but cloudy weather due to haze easy. Able to increase pace gradually. Test to hold the pace and able to do it. Probably due to the rest and shorter distance the run end up well. No issue on left shin today. Will need to see the development tomorrow.

Sat (Sep 20 14) | 11.2 kilometers | 1:07:39 min | 6:04 min/kilometer
Recovery, Notes: with 7x100 m strides. Left shin feel a bit tearing feeling once a while but not cause much problem
| |||||||||
Sun (Sep 21 14) | 35 kilometers | 2:50:17 min | 4:52 min/kilometer
Long run, Notes: Kristal - botanicalx11 - jesseltonx7 - back to botanical x 2 - jesselton to brook turn back then jesselton 1 roun - back tru rose - kristal With second part run at faster pace. At first plan for a marathon race pace but found that the best pace I can go is about 4:40/min at Jesselton. Decided to stay on the exertion. It was one round with abour 300m elevation about 10m and another 300m down. Notice that running down was at a slow pace, could be due to tired leg. A few distance able to achieve 4:30/min. Base on the rest, the route surface road with elevation, consider a satisfied run for me. No pain and complain from left shin.

0.6 kilometers | 4:18 min | 7:25 min/kilometer
Recovery, Notes: cooldown
