Of course, it's special to both my parents, as they brought me to this world some many years ago.
However, for me, it's the day I done my first 30 km run on 2011.
It was before I started to train for the first marathon. Before that time, I was training for half marathon and never go any distance beyond that. That day, for some reasons, I was at the feeling of doing something special. Therefore, in that evening I was out for a run with a distance I never try before. No time limit. I went to padang polo for about 10 loops, 1 loop at Jesselton and 10 loops at botanical garden. I guess that was the only time I stay so late at botanical garden. It's something new for me at that time. I feel that 30 km is a milestone, be it a physiological or psychological one. Cross that mark, it's like you are grow taller for bigger, like energy up for one level.
Last year I have done the same distance just to make it an anniversary. Last year was almost a half dead experience as I brought only 600 ml of water and been away of training some time.
This year, by the time I am typing this (6:35 a.m.), the weather is disturb by the haze. In the dark morning sky, I can see a white layer floating in the air. Peeping out the windows every half an hour, keep updating API status. All signs pointing to "better not to run".
I hope the condition will get improved this afternoon to make this run for me possible.
I guess everyone has some memorable event in their running life. This is one of mine.
Worsening haze at 10:00 a.m., Mount Erskine area. Looks like a run is not possible today. |
