To run or not to run?

Sunday Newton run is drawing near, and I'm contemplating on this question, "to run or not to run"?

After running New Year Newton Challenge early of this year, I was so eager to go back to this route again. Due to the challenging elevation profile, and the special date, which is approaching new year. Well this settle "what you going to do for new year" issue. Also, because it's one month after a planned marathon and it's not within serious training cycle, I can take it as an event to spice up the running life. It's good to try something different once a while.

However I've not been training well, and most importantly the pain still not really go away. The race could possibly be completed, but I'll probably come back limping, increased degree of pain and longer period of rest. And it's a worry if it will cause damage in the long run (not the LSD long run).

Studying and reading about "Ammah" Hill from other runners+bloggers this morning. I didn't know which section of the road is it until just now. I have no memory of that section of route, and I really wish to go back and see her again. It's all excited. The morning breeze, the street light, and the hills.

Off the computer, sitting at the edge of the bed I was thinking, do I have to do this? Is this necessary?

After the injury early of this year, I came to realize it's more important if one can continue to run and enjoy it. Pushing too hard and break it, the price is heavy.

The pros and cons are really obvious. Cons are losing the registering fees, travelling far but not to run, miss a yearly chance. Pros are recovery.

Perhaps should take a step back this time?
It's about how to put things into perception and accept it.
How you see yourself? If you give up, are you not trying hard enough? What if you really can make it? Etc...
And it's not easy to learn.
